RNC CHAIRMAN PRIEBUS STATEMENT ON THE SELECTION OF PAUL RYAN TO DELIVER THE REPUBLICAN ADDRESS TO THE NATION
WASHINGTON – Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Reince Priebus released the following statement today regarding the selection of House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan (R-WI) to deliver the Republican address following the President’s State of the Union address to Congress:
“I am thrilled that my dear friend and fellow Wisconsinite Paul Ryan will be delivering the Republican address following the State of the Union. I have worked closely with Paul over the years, both as Chairman of the Republican Party of Wisconsin and as GOP chair of his congressional district, and there is no one who understands better the serious economic problems facing our country.
“Paul’s unmatched command of policy and commitment to limited government make him the ideal choice to lay out the vision Americans are looking for but haven’t seen from this President or Congressional Democrats. Republicans have a clear agenda to promote private sector job growth and end the spending spree in Washington, and Paul will prove to be an effective and articulate spokesman for that agenda.”
